im so sorry but its so incredibly bone chilling to think about how the guatemalan civil war only ended less than a year before i was born; how cushiony it is to think about how distant and far removes the american civil war of 150 years ago was

#'peak violence between late70s to early80s' cannot stop thinking about how my parents came to the state in the 80s #dont know exactly what year but does it even fucking matter #'civil war' is so misleading too because it was literally largely a war between the poor indigenous and the fucking puppet government #set up by the united states no less because of vested interest ALL BECAUSE OF ONE ENTIRE SHITTY FRUIT #im sorry bananas arent bad or anything i dont have anything against them but im literally shaking in anger that these people were willing #to commit genocide over a stupid piece of shit fruit to the point of literally fabricating lies about soviets or communism or whatever tf #just so they could justify ownership over their stupid ass crop and in order to not have to pay the workers actually growing these crops #btw i dont mean to downplay the american civil war either please dont get the wrong idea from this #its just. you'd think maybe something wouldve changed. improved over those 100 years. and yet
